The composer Fuzzy has created a captivating VOLIÈRE
for one of Carl-Henning Pedersen's favourite
motifs, the bird. Listen to the images
as two art forms communicate...
The Danish composer Fuzzy has created the electro-acoustic piece VOLIÈRE inspired by the Carl-Henning Pedersen's paintings. The title of the piece refers to one of the painter's recurring motifs, the bird as a symbol of artistic freedom.
VOLIÈRE consists of 10 movements each of 3-7 minutes' duration. Throughout the day, these are played in varying sequences separated by silent intervals of changing lengths. The result is a transmutable, organic composition which adds a new dimension to the colourful and imaginative art of Carl-Henning Pedersen.
In music as well as in the pictorial arts balances and form are crucial - and both forms of art deal fundamentally with that which can not be described with words, according to Fuzzy. "What I experience is balances. Seeing a picture may cause some form of music to appear in my mind - but the music never illustrates the picture, quite the opposite. Pictures always awake something in me - not least those of Carl-Henning Pedersen".
